Extraordinary Shedra - Buddhist Philosophy: the Bodhicharyavatara Wisdom Chapter

Subject:
Bodhicaryavatara — Wisdom Chapter

Patrul Rinpoche invites us to join the General Buddhist Philosophy Course whose topic will be the Wisdom Chapter of the Bodhicaryavatara, written by Shantideva. Buddhist teachings on compassion are grounded in the wisdom of emptiness. As it is said in the Prajnaparamita-sutra in eight thousand verses :

The wisdom paramita is nondual, primordial wisdom,
Tathagata, buddhahood itself.

The author of the Bodhicharyavatara was the noble Bodhisattva Shantideva, considered to be an emanation of Manjushri.

This teaching will be a great opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the Middle Way school of the Buddhist philosophy, renowned for its profundity and dialectic subtlety.

The course is open to everyone; please note that according to our Teacher's wish, it should be treated as mandatory for all shedra students who won't attend the Shedra in Dzogchen this summer.
